Funds recovered from billing finance payroll, equipment purchases, training, and education as well as community outreach. All patients who are transported by our ambulances are billed. In order to sustain operations, the rescue squad third party bills for service. As a result, we are not fully supported by taxpayers in regard to funding for operations. The Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad is an independent agency that is not a department of the Township of Hamilton. We respond to over 4,000 requests for service annually with two duty crews that respond from our Mays Landing station. With a roster of over 60 Emergency Medical Technicians and a fleet of 6 Ambulances, 1 First Responder, 2 Boats, 1 Dive Truck, and 1 Rescue Truck, the squad is able to respond to all types of medical and traumatic emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes the communities of Mays Landing, Bears Head, Clarkstown, Cologne, Gravelly Run, Harding Lakes, Indian Branch, Laureldale, McKee City, Mizpah, and Weymouth as well as the Atlantic City Expressway. The Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad is a non-profit and New Jersey Department of Health licensed agency that provides Emergency Medical and Rescue Services (EMS) to the residents and visitors of Hamilton Township, Atlantic County, NJ.
